Wednesday, July 25, 1934Willard S. Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Allen, was born at Lineville, Iowa, on April 12, 1892, and passed away at his home in Bloomfield, Iowa, July 19, 1934, at the age of 43 years, 3 months and 7 days.
On September 1st, 1915, he was united in marriage to Miss Beva Chamberlin. To this union, one daughter, Naomi, was born, who with the wife survives him. He is also survived by his father and mother, of Coarse Gold, Calif., on brother, William E. Allen of Corydon, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Ollie Kimber, of Coarse Gold, Calif., and many other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, Hollie.
Mr. Allen came to Centerville 13 years ago and was employed in several garages of the city until last May when he went to Bloomfield to become shop foreman for the Hill Motor company of that city. He was employed six years by the Universal Motor company of this city and afterwards was employed by the Ford company, the Centerville Motor company, the Carmer Motor company in the order named. He was serving his second term of employment with he Universal company when he went to Bloomfield.
Mr. Allen attended the Christian church and for a number of years was active in the Loyal Men's class. He was a good citizen, a loving husband and fond father and will be missed by a large number of friends.
Funeral services were held from the Central Church of Christ Sunday afternoon with H. E. Trimble, pastor of the church officiating. Burial was in the Allerton cemetery.
