Funeral services held Monday for Mrs. John Archer, whose death was Sunday
Exline, July 23 - (Special) - Mrs. John Archer, whose home was southeast of Exline passed away at the St. Joseph hospital in Centerville, Sunday, July 22, Mrs. Archer had been having ill health for some time. Deceased was a young mother, 33 years of age, leaving eight children who with the husband and father mourn their loss. Funeral services were held Monday afternnon in charge of Eurus Johnson, local undertaker. The obituary follows:
Harriet L. McGhghy Archer, daughter of George and Annie McGhghy, was born in Appanoose county, near Dean, Iowa, on the 13th day of May, 1901 , and departed this life July 22, 1934, age 33 years, 2 months and 9 days.
She was united in marriage to John Archer on April 8, 1917, and to this union ten children were born, two having preceded her in death. Those left to mourn her departure are her loving husband and eight children, Walter, Leslie, Edna, Geneva, Ernest, Clifford, Charles and baby Goldie Marie and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George McGhghy and four living sisters, and one brother; also her mother-in-law, Mrs. David Archer, and a number of uncles, aunts, and other relatives and friends.
She gave her heart to God when a child and has lived a devoted christian life.
Interment was made at the Salem cemetery.
The funeral services was at 2 o'clock Monday, July 23, conducted by Rev. E. Stufflebeam of West Grove, Iowa.
