MRS. HOPKINS OF MYSTIC IS TAKEN
Aged Woman Dies at the Home of Her Daughter Mrs. John Martin, Due to Heart Ailment
Mystic, Jan. 9 - Mrs. Thomas Hoskins, age 74, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Martin, Saturday night at 9:30, after several months of failing health, due to heart ailment and complications. Mrs. Hoskins was born in Davis county near Drakesville and came to Mystic 48 years ago where she had since been a resident. In death she is survived by her husband, three sons and two daughters, Warren and Thomas Hoskins of Mystic, and Rance Hoskins of Davenport, Ethel Bland of Albia and Edna Martin of Mystic. She also leaves three brothers, James Bryan of Centerville, Samuel Bryan of Tama, and Dode of Colorado.
Funeral services were held today (Monday) at the M. E. church in Mystic at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. M. R. Gonzalez in charge, and burial was made in the Elgin cemetery.

*** There are a couple of typos in the newspaper article, the first being the misspelling of the name in the headline. Also, she did not have a brother named "Dode." The brother who lived in Colorado was Jones Marion Bryan.
