S. S. COLE PASSES AWAY IN WYOMING
Former Centerville Man Succumbs In the West – Burial Made In This City
Pete Cole of this city received word Saturday night telling of the death of his father S.S. Cole, at Sheridan, Wyo. The telegram started that the body was being shipped back to this city for burial, this being the old home of Mr. Cole and the place where he had spent practically all of his life until two years ago when he went to Wyoming to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. George Kirchman.
Mr. Cole was 79 years of age at the time of his death and although it was known he was rather feeble the telegram did not state the exact cause of his death. His last visit to Centerville was made this last spring when he spent a few days here with his son Peter. He was one of the early settlers in Centerville and could tell many interesting stories of the days when Centerville was a little prairie town in what was then known as the far west.
The body was expected to arrive to the city today, and although no definite arrangements had been made, it was stated by relative this morning that services would likely be held from the chapel. The family have requested that no flowers be send.
