Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” Friday, June 8, 1934:

Mrs. Mary Alice Cathey, about 63 years old, died at her home on Quincy avenue at 12:05 p.m. today. She is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Cathey; one brother, John Dale of Confidence, Iowa, and a niece, Mrs. M.U. Knapp of Albia. The body has been removed to the Johnson funeral chapel pending the completion of funeral arrangements.

“CATHEY SERVICES,” From “Ottumwa Courier,” Saturday, June 9, 1934:

The body of Mrs. Mary Alice Cathey, 79 years old, who died at her home on Quincy avenue at 12:05 p.m. Friday, was taken from the Johnson funeral chapel to the residence at noon today and will be removed to the Turner funeral home at Moravia tonight. Services will be held at the Christian church in Moravia at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Walter Lagel of Moravia will officiate. Burial will be made in the Sales cemetery.
