Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” December 9, 1950:
Charles P. Pabst, 84, of 401 Logan street, died at 12:50 a.m. today at the home of his daughter, Mrs. F.W. Mills, 113 Albany street.
The son of John and Sarah Pabst, he was born November 10, 1866, in Trenton, Ohio. A resident of Ottumwa for the past 35 years, Mr. Pabst was a member of the Knights of Pythias lodge No. 12. He was an employe of the Shaul Cemetery association for 17 years, retiring in 1940.
Mr. Pabst is survived by his wife, Emma; one daughter, Mrs. F.W. Mills of Ottumwa; two sons, Clarence Pabst of Curundu, Panama, Canal Zone, and Gene Pabst of Middlegrove, Ill; two step-daughters, Mrs. Mary Bray of Ottumwa and Mrs. Hazel Rockhill of Creston; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and one brother, H.H. of Moravia.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Emma; one daughter, one son, his second wife Amanda; six brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. W.B. Friend of the Pentecostal Church of God. Burial will be in the cemetery at Moravia.
