Obituary

Raymond Glen Hixenbaugh, son of George Irven and Nettie Teegarden Hixenbaugh, was born in Appanoose County on Sept. 8, 1894, and passed away at the St Joseph Hospital Saturday, Nov. 15, 1958 at the age of 64 years, 2 months and 7 days, following a period of failing health.

His entire life was spent in Appanoose County. He lived on the old homestead where he was born, which had been the family home for three generations.

He was united in marriage to Edith Louise Davison Sept. 29, 1920, and to this union one son Gale Irven, was born.

Surviving are his widow, the son and daughter-in-law Bessie, two grandchildren, Gary Irven, age 10, and Barbara Ann, age four; also one sister, Mrs. Gladys Smith of Centerville, Iowa, and several cousins, including Mrs. Olive Buck, H. C. Hixenbaugh, Mrs. Alice Shepard and Stephen Davison, all of Centerville.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and one sister, Mary Frances.

When a young man he gave his heart to Christ and was baptized into the fellowship of the United Brethren Church at "Prairie View," near Plano.

He was a kind and loving husband and father, and will be sadly missed by his loved ones and friends. Funeral services under the direction of Ray Swanson were held Monday, Nov. 17, 1958 at 2:30 at the Concord Church, with Rev. James Thomas, Baptist minister of Centerville, officiating.

Max Ellis, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Joan Glen ,sang 'The Old Rugged Cross" and 'Beyond the Sunset." Pallbearers were Lewis Curtis, Earl Hixenbaugh, Otto Moore, Tony Kruzich, Martin Fenton. and Frank Dixon. Burial was# in the Concord
Cemetery.
