Samson Taken at His Home Friday

Fred A. Samson, 52, of 828 South 16th street in Centerville, passed away at his home Friday at 12:30 p.m. Mr. Sampson had been in poor health for about two years and suffered a heart attack Thursday evening.

He was born in Cincinnati, Iowa, on May 28, 1895, the son of Thomas and Margaret Samson. He had been employed as a conductor on the C. B. & Q. Railroad for a number of years and had lived in Centerville for the past fourteen years.

In death he leaves his wife, Gladys Margaret Samson and one daughter, Bonnie Jean, who is a senior in Centerville High School. He also leaves his monther, Mrs. Margaret Samson of Cincinnati, two sisters who are Mrs. Jean McDonald of Cincinnati, Iowa, and Mrs. Elizabeth Deck of Arnolds Park, Iowa, and two brothers, John of Fort Madison and William of Centerville.

Mr. Samson was a veteran of World War I and was an active member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the O.R.C.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. from the Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Lester Greenwood officiating. Military services and burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery.
