Aged Resident of City Taken

Margaret Mitchell, of 1003 North Eighteenth Street, one of Centerville's oldest residents, passed away Sunday night at her home following a lingering illness. She was 98 years, nine months and 21 days of age.

She was born in Glasgow, Scotlnad, April 7, 1852, the daughter of James and Christine McPhee and came to the U.S. in 1881 settling at Lucas, Iowa, where she lived until 1890 when she came to Centerville, where she has resided since.

She was a member of the United Brethern Church and in her long residenbce in this city had made a a host of friends who with her family mourn her passing.

She is preceded in death by her husband Alexander Mitchell, two sons, Andrew in 1947, Frank in 1950 and a daughter, Christina Replogle.

In death she leaves a daughter, Miss Elizabeth Mitchell, William, Alex and John at home, James Mitchell also of Centerville, and Charles Mitchell, of Valleyjo, California. There are 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral serives are pending and will be announced later.
