Mr. Doggett
Died Monday
Raymond Doggett, 68, lifelong resident of Numa, passed away at St. Joseph Hospital, Monday, Feb. 5, at 11:50 a.m., after an illness. He had been a hospital patient for the past nine days.
Born in Appanoose County on Nov. 16, 1899, he was the son of William Oliver and Arthenia Russell Doggett.
On Dec. 24, 1921, he married Margaret Streepy in Cincinnati, Ia., who survives. He was a member of the Numa Methodist Church the past ten years.
He operated a service station and prior to that time had been employed as a coal miner. Mr. Doggett took an avid interest in hunting and trapping mink.
Preceding him in death were his father, an infant son, two sisters, Mrs. May Young and
Mrs. Celeste McCracken. Survivors include, besides his widow, a son, Neil Doggett of
Numa; three daughters, Mrs. Colleen Hitchinson of Indianapolis, Ind.; Mrs. Rosanna Parker of Seymour; Mrs. Joan Wells, Prairie City, Ia.: his mother, Mrs. W. O. Doggett of Seymour; three brothers, Gilmore of Des Moines, Russell of Corydon, Ray of Knoxville; three sisters, Mrs. Murriel Shoff, Earlham, Ia., Mrs. Maude Caldwell, Portland, Me., Mrs. Josephine Clark, Corydon.
The body is at the Miller-Wehrle Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m., from the Methodist church in Numa with Rev. Kermit Gladfelder officiating. Burial will be in Numa cemetery.
The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
