William Wesley Bauman, son of William and Sarah D? Bauman, was born in Hardin County, Ohio, April 25, 1854. He came with his parents to Appanoose County, Iowa, at the age of five months. The family settled on a homestead west of Moulton, where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage with Laura Hileman at the home of the bride's father, May 7, 1883. They came to a home near Exline in 1885 and have lived in this community for 53 years.
Four children were born to this union: Alma Elledge, of Centerville, James, of near Exline, Roscoe, of near Sharon Chapel, and Marie Drake, who lives near the old home.
Mr. Bauman was a lover of his home and his greatest pride was his children and in his later years united with the Methodist church at Exline. He was a devoted husband, kind father, and good neighbor. His word was as good as his bond.
He leaves to mourn his passing his devoted wife, of 55 years, the four children, twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews. He was the last of a family of eight children. He will, be sadly missed in the home life.
