Mrs. B. E. Amos
Dies at Exline
Besse Ethel Amos, 65, long time resident of Exline community, died at her home in Exline at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Mrs. Amos was born at Mendota, Mo., Oct. 17 1887 and was the daughter of Millard and Roannah Farnsworth. She was well known in the Exline community where she and her husband Lyle operated a grocery store for several years. She has also been city treasurer of Exline for the past two years.
In death she is survived by her husband Lyle one son Lyle Jr. at home, who is employed in Centerville, also four children by a former marriage Chloe Sebolt, of Coatsville, Mo., Mildred Myers, of Cincinnati, Ia:, and Luella Bankson, of Rockford, ILL. Also a son Max, of Ottumwa. There are 11 grandchildren and
10 great-grandchildren. She leaves two sister Pearl Purdum of Montezuma, Ia., and Alice
Mitchell, of Ottumwa, and a brother E. O. Farnsworth. She is preceded in death by two
brothers and her first husband Milton Exline died in 1920.
Funeral arrangements are tentatively set for Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Exline. Complete arrangements will be announced later. The body is at the Johnson Funeral home.
