Centerville Citizen
September 6, 1893

Mrs. Minerva Johnson, relict of the late Wm. Johnson, died at her home near Exline, Iowa, on the night of Aug. 25th, aged 48 years and 1 month.
Her life was one of ministry to those who needed her help, and at all times she was ready to discharge her duty to her friends, her family and her God.
During the last sickness of her husband as well as her husband's father, which occurred at her home, she was a faithful nurse, tenderly watching
over the suffering ones until their souls returned to God the Father. She was a faithful member of the church until called to the fellowship of the church triumphant, which is without spot, before the throne of God.
Her last sickness continued 8 months; her suffering was very severe, but she bore it all with heroic patience, and an unfaltering trust in her Savior.
She talked calmly of her approaching death, and made full arrangements for her funeral, which occurred at Exline, August 26th. Her pastor Samuel Thero, of the M. E. church preached from the texr, Psalm 127, 2. "He giveth his beloveth sleep." Her two daughters, together with sympathizing relatives and friends, are encouraged and cheered by the words of our
Saviour, "Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord."
