Linda Belloma

Linda Belloma, 45, of Centerville died Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Thomas Lange Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lloyd Johnston officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Centerville.

Friends may call all day Friday at the funeral home. The family will be present from 6-8 p.m.

Memorial donations to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or the Redette Basketball Parents may be left or mailed to the funeral home, PO Box 6, Centerville 52544 or www.thomaslangefuneralhome.com.

Mrs. Belloma was born May 23, 1959, in Centerville, the daughter of Oliver "Pep" Russell and Betty Lyons Belloma April 23, 1979, in Centerville.

She was a 1977 graduate of Centerville High School. In high school, she was an All-State, All-District, All-Conference softball player and basketball player. She led the Redettes basketball team in scoring where she also was the district free-throw champion. In softball, she batted .500 in the South Central Conference.

She attended Southwestern Community College and graduated from Indian Hills Community College with a licensed practical nursing degree.

For the past 20 years, she had worked as a pharmacy technician and licensed practical nurse at the VA Hospital in Knoxville.

She coached Minor League Softball with Sheila Carson and was president of the Big Red Baseball Parents Association for several years. She was active and supportive of her children and the Centerville sports programs.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Nicholas "Nic" Belloma of Centerville; one daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Belloma of Centerville; her mother of Centerville; one sister, Reta Pope of Fairfield; and one brother, Bruce Russell of Rathbun.
