Obituary—Burns
Lydia A. Burns was born in the state of Ohio, Dec. 25, 1834, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Hutton, of Maine Station, Jan. 20, 1911, aged 70 years and 25 days.
In the year 1859 she was married to George McMurray. She was afterward married to Alvin Burns, in 1877, who died in the year 1879. She was the mother of six children, two sons and four daughters, all of whom are living.
Her last sickness was of short duration, and she only waited the Master's call to take her home. There remains to mourn her loss six children, three brothers, one sister, several grandchildren and many friends.
The funeral was held Jan. 21, 1911 at 3 p. m. at the home of the daughter, Mrs. John Hutton, conducted by Rev. Alvah Huff, M. E. pastor at Iconium. Interment was in the Maine Station cemetery.
