Thomas Atkinson, 80, died Saturday morning at the Centerville St. Joseph hospital as a result of a fall suffered at his Udell home.
Rushed to the hospital, he was in a critical condition, and death soon resulted. His three sons reached his bedside. They are Clyde, of Centerville, Grant of North Dakota, and Harrison of Cedar Rapids. The deceased was born Oct. 12, 1859, on the homestead entered upon by his parents at an early period of the settlement of Appanoose county. He was Sunday school superintendent of the Bethren church before the church building was removed from its original site two miles east of Udell.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:30 at the Udell Brethren church, the Rev.
Deeter officiating. Burial will be made at the Fairview cemetery.
