MRS. VENELL IS
TAKEN SUDDENLY
Mrs. A. V. Venell, widely known and long time resident of Centerville, died suddenly at midnight last night at her home on South Sixteenth Street. Mrs. Venell, who was 79 years of age, had been a semi-invalid for some time and recently she had contracted a cold. However, it was not felt that she was in serious condition and her death came unexpectedly and as a shock to her many friends and relatives.
In death Mrs. Venell is survived by her husband, well known former Appanoose county coal operator. They had celebrated their fifty sixth wedding anniversary. One son. Reuben Venell, also survives and resides at Lakeland, Florida where he is associated with the Al Lodwick Enterprises. He is flying to Centerville today
and will arrive this afternoon. Ano, died a year ago.
A granddaughter and two grandsons survive. They are Mrs. Dorothy Gleason, near Newark, New Jersey. Dwight Venell, student at Iowa Wesleyan at Mt. Pleasant, and William Venell, of Des Moines.
Mrs. Grant Venell, daughter-in-law, resides here and is at Hot Springs, Arkansas at the present time. Mrs. Venell was a member of the Methodist Church and a woman of splendid character. Funeral arrangements are pending
