The old house across the road from 751 Yellow River Road was owned by Frank and Sophie (McShane) Colvin until 1959 when Sophie died. She was probably the last to live in that house. Their grandson Donald Colvin, of Postville, wrote a McShane family history prior to his death which goes into much detail about the family ... would hope that it is available in your local libraries. Think you would find it interesting and perhaps find clues about the property. He had spent a lot of time with grandparents when young. Don was a newspaper reporter and editor and knew how to dig up all the details. It is possible that Frank & Sophie were second generation in that house. In 1900, the young couple are living with his parents, Richard and Sylvia Colvin and the location, judging by the neighbors, is that neighborhood. My grandparents lived at 722 Yellow River Drive from 1904 until their deaths, were friends through the years of Frank and Sophie.
