In Response To: Father/son fatal car crash on Hiway 13 on/about late Dec. (Jim McCormick)

I believe this may be the accident, although there was only one car involved. I did a search for accidents near the year 1960, for highway 13 and Harper's Ferry. This is the only accident that popped up.

Find Driver Dead in Wrecked Auto
Marquette, Iowa – A farmer standing up in a moving tractor on Highway 13 near here spotted the wreckage of a car down a steep embankment Wednesday afternoon. In the wreck he found the body of Harold George Kinley, 49, of Harpers Ferry.

Officers who investigated figured the accident in this hilly section of northeast Iowa occurred about 11:40 p.m. Tuesday. The car had landed in underbrush at the bottom of a 75-foot slope and was not easily visible from the road.
It was Allamakee county's first fatal traffic fatality this year.

Auto Fatality

WAUKON – Harold Kinley, 49, died instantly in a one-car accident which happened about 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday not far from the farm home for which he was bound. His 1953 Hudson, which he had picked up at Marquette to take home, left the roadway on No. 13 South, about nine-tenths of a mile west of the Harpers Ferry road on a very slight curve.
