Seeking info on my GG grandparents who emigrated from Germany.
Christian Mundt, b. 1825 maybe Frankfurt and d. 1868 in Lansing, Iowa of consumption. He was proprietor of the Diamond House hotel in Lansing.
Prior to that I believe he was a carpenter and emigrated as a carpenter.
Married to Barbara Hirth b.26 Dec 1832 somewhere in Baden, Germany and d. 5 May 1910 Spokane, WA. and sister to Lois Hirth of French Creek, IA
I would like to find the ship(s) they came over on and if and when they were married in Germany.
Also would like to find out more of the Diamond House hotel in Lansing around 1868. After Christian's death, Barbara appears on the 1870 census along with a number of "boarders". Was this at the Diamond House?
Any Mundt info for this family is appreciated.
