I'm not sure how much help I'll be. I'm not a descendent of Lois Hoit or the Moulthrops.
Are you thinking that Eliza is daughter of Lois?According to Eliza Hoit Moultroup's obit (on the Obit board), she was born in Burlington, VT, 1810 ...
Eliza's obit also states that Eliza & her husband Jonathan Moultroup lived for quite a while in Rockton, Winnebago co. Illinois after they married in Ohio. Not until 1855 did they remove to Hardin, Allamakee co. Iowa.
The 1850 census enumerates Jonathan & Eliza in Rockton with children Lawrence (10), Adeliza (7) and George (3). Lois Hoit is not living with them at that time.
The 1856 Iowa State census, Allamakee county enumerates Johathan & Eliza in with children S. (15), A.E. (13) and George (9). Lois Hoit is not living with them at that time.
I can't find them on the 1860 census to see if Lois is with them yet.
The Postville Review covered the Post twp. and Franklin twp. area quite extensively, and the paper began publication in 1873 (March, I think, but may be wrong). I tried to find a death notice but came up with nothing. Can you give us the names of her 12 daughters? Perhaps there is newspaper mention of one of them that will tie in to the Lois Hoit in Minert cemetery.
