Hello,
As far as I can remember, it was just called Waukon Public Grade School. It has been torn down and is now an playground for the children.
It was an great old building with 3 floors and all those steps..And an old iron fire escape that we had many fire drills to come down on.
Also an basement where we ate our lunches, and could go through an tunnel to the high school building. What memories.. I was probably in the 3rd grade when you were here. Your name is not familiar to me.. I do have an picture of the school, several in fact. But have to find them so can send them on to you..
