In Response To: Location of Durno's Park (L. Rees)

From an essay written by Ellison Orr in 1930:

"North of Postville within a couple of miles we enter what was once a heavily timbered area. To the west of the road on the "Van Velzer Hill," at the foot of which lies Durno's park, there still remains a bit of primitive forest having some measure of its primeval wildness and beauty."

I can't find Durno's Park on a map, but I'm pretty sure the location described above is on what is now Hwy 51 going north out of Postville, and near the intersections of the Yellow River Rd & Frankville Rd. which would be in the northeastern part of section 17 or northwestern part of section 16 of Post twp. Hopefully someone else can pin the location down further.
