MUSCATINE, Iowa - Philip J. Peterson, 63, of Muscatine, died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at Unity Health Systems Hospital in Muscatine.

Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 16, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Bentley Funeral Homes in Wilton, Iowa, and on Friday one hour prior to services at First Presbyterian Church in Wilton. Services will Friday at 11 a.m. at the church, the Rev. Bruce Giese officiating. A memorial has been established.

He was born on March 9, 1941, in Postville, Iowa, the son of Charles and Phyllis (Kohler) Peterson. He married Carol S. Stacy on Dec. 28, 1963, in Kewanee.

She survives, as do three daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Stacy) McGowan of Poplar Grove, Ill., Mrs. Don (Laura) Juszczyk of Muscatine and Sarah Peterson of Chicago; a sister, Patricia Peterson of Ft. Collins, Colo.; a brother, Charles (Doris) Peterson of Eagle, Colo.; and six grandchildren, Megan, Katie and Patrick McGowan and Kyle, Emily and John Juszczyk. He was preceded in death by his parents

He was an Army veteran. He was employed at BT Primemover in Muscatine for 11 years. Before that he was employed by Iowa Mold Tooling, Co. in Garner, Iowa, and Kenner Toys in Middletown, N.J., and Milford, Ohio.

He was a 40-year member of Wilton Masonic Lodge 167 AF& AM, a member of the U.S.Golf Association, a member of Alpha Kappa Lambda fraternity and a founding member of the T.G.F.H.
