William McKernan, 75, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Friday, Feb. 25, 2005.

He was born June 18, 1929, in Postville, Iowa.

Mr. McKernan moved to Punta Gorda in 1980 from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He retired from the construction industry.

He is survived by his daughters, Susan McKernan Port of Gilbert, Ariz., and Deborah McKernan of Minneapolis, Minn.; companion, Margo Hurst of Punta Gorda; brother, Larry McKernan of Las Vegas, Nev.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. McKernan was preceded in death by his son, Robert McKernan; his parents; three sisters; and two brothers.

Arrangements are by National Cremation Society of Venice, Venice Fla.
