Fay W. Marfilius, age 65, of Prairie du Chien, passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2004, at the Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien. She was born on July 8, 1938, in Postville, Iowa, the daughter of Irving and Iowa (Wilkins) Schierholz. She married Lewis Marfilius on Nov. 14, 1957, at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. She is survived by her husband, Lewis of Prairie du Chien; two sons, Scott Marfilius of Milwaukee, and Bill (Cindy) Marfilius of Prairie du Chien; three daughters, Cindy (Gary) Jelinek of Prairie du Chien, Deb (Robert) Camardo of Mineral Point, and Joan (Dennis) Peterson of Milton; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Gerold (Barb) Schierholz of Iowa; and two sisters, Beverly Schierholz of Waterloo, Iowa, and Wanda (Bill) Check of Prairie du Chien. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at 11 a.m. ST. GABRIEL'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Prairie du Chien, with Father Jack Wambach S.J. officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call on Tuesday, July 6, 2004, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the GARRITY FUNERAL HOME in Prairie du Chien, with a Rosary service at 4:15 p.m. and Wake Scripture at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family to establish a entrance at Evergreen Cemetery in Prairie du Chien in Memory of Fay Marfilius.
