The remains of Mr. Phillip Leppert of Independence were brought here Wednesday for burial. Deceased was born in Rochester, N. Y., Feb. 25, 1827, and came to this place and was married to Miss Dora Weihe, Feb. 27, 1877, the only daughter of the lated Louisa Weihe. A wife and two sons and two daughters mourn the loss.

Phillip was actually born 25 Feb. 1847. He was the son of Andrew Leppert and Johanna Henry

The remains of Mr. Philip Leppert arrived here Wednesday afternoon from Independence. Deceased was born in Rochester, N.Y., February 25, 1850, and came to this place in 1872. He was married to Miss Dora Weihe, daughter of the late Mrs. Louisa Wiehe of this city, and then purchased a farm in French Creek and has made that place his home for over fifty years.

Mr. Leppert was 63 years of age. A wife, two daughters and two sons mourn the loss. The funeral took place at Mays Prairie church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Ponsula officiating.

His gravestone in Oak Hill cemetery, Lansing is inscribed with the dates Oct. 11, 1846 - June 28, 1911. Both obituaries are from 1910 newspapers, so the DOD on his gravestone is also incorrect.
