JESSE LEPPERT

Lansing, Ia. (Special) Funeral services will be held at the Congregational church at Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Jesse Leppert, who died Sunday at a LaCrosse hospital where he had been confined three months with rheumatic fever. The Rev. H. C. Marks will officiate and music will be sung by James Sires and his daughters of New Albin.

Jesse was a son of Mrs. Sarah and the late Andrew Leppert, born in French Creek township Dec. 29, 1894. He attended the rural schools and assisted in the farm work until taken to the hospital. He never married. Surviving are his mother, two sisters, Mrs. Emma Oberg (Oelberg) and Mrs. Cora Swenson, Postville; five brothers, James, Dorchester, Ralph, Postville, Dewey, Lansing, Willard and Gilbert, Havre, Mont. All will be present at the funeral. Casket bearers will be his cousins, Maynard and Reuben Leppert, Charles and Louis Ebner, Floyd Wilde and John Hirth. Burial will be in the May's Prairie cemetery. His father and sister Lydia have preceded him in death.

Mays Prairie Farmer Dies in La Crosse Hospital at Age 54

Funeral Services were held today at 1:30 o'clock for Jesse A. Leppert, who passed away at the Grandview hospital in La Crosse (WI) last Sunday after an illness of four months. Mr. Leppert was 54 years, 10 months, and 18 days old.
Mr. Leppert was born Dec. 29, 1894, the son of Andrew and Sarah (Bulman) Leppert, pioneer residents of French Creek township. He grew to manhood on the home farm and received his education in the rural schools. He was member of the Mays Prairie Methodist church.
Mr. Leppert leaves to mourn his mother, Mrs. Sarah Leppert, six brothers, James of Dorchester, Ralph of Postville, Oscar of Edgeley, North Dakota, Dewey, Willard, and Gilbert of Lansing. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. (Emma) Albert Oalberg, and Mrs. (Cora) Lloyd Swensen both of Postville. His father and one sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held from the Congregatikonal church in Lansing with the Rev. Henry Marks officiating. Burial was made in the Mays Prairie cemetery.
