Florence V. Martin,88, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1993, in her home of heart failure. Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Zion United Church of Christ, by the Rev. Richard Eick. Burial: Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Martin Funeral Home.
Survivors include three daughters, Rosalie Ehde of Waukon, Joyce Headington of Cresco and Sharon Martin of Waterloo; three sons, Lloyd of Waukon, Kermit of Waterville and Walter of Lansing; a brother, George Dresselhaus of McGregor; and a sister, Clara Paus of Hokah, Minn

Funeral services were set for Wednesday, Aug. 4 for Florence V. Martin, 88, who died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1993 at her home in Waukon. The Rev. Richard Eick will conduct the 1:30 p.m. services at Zion United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery with arrangements by Martin Funeral Home.

A lifetime Allamakee County resident, she was born Nov. 7, 1904 in Union City Township to Henry and Elizabeth (Wenig) Dresselhaus and attended rural Allamakee County schools.

June 14, 1934 she and Edward J. Martin were married in Waukon. For several years, she worked as a dietary aid at Good Samaritan Center and as a housekeeper at the Uptown Motel in Waukon.

Florence was a member of Zion UCC and its Women's Fellowship.

Surviving are three daughters, Rosalie (Mrs. Galerd) Ehde of Waukon, Joyce (Mrs. Robert) Headington of Cresco and Sharon Martin of Waterloo, and three sons and their wives, Lloyd and Carol Martin of Waukon, Kermit and Dianne Martin of Waterville, and Walter and Peggy Martin of Lansing.

Also surviving are one brother, George Dresselhaus of McGregor; one sister, Clara Paus of Hokah, MN, 15 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband who died Aug. 27, 1979.

Casket bearers will be Lloyd, Kermit and Walter Martin, Randy Ehde, Duane, David, Brian and Kevin Martin, and Larry Headington.
