Obituary - Henry William Renk
Henry William Renk was born in the province of Hanover, Germany, on the 20th of July, 1877. He came to this country with his parents at the age of six, when they first settled at New Albin, Iowa, and soon after moved to Union City township, where his father bought a farm.
He was confirmed at the St. Johnís Evangelical and Zion Reformed Church by Rev. Birkner on the 5th of April, 1891. On the 8th of October, 1908, he was joined in holy matrimony to Miss Sophie Kurk of Union City township.
Two children were born to that union, one daughter, Velma, and a son, Roy.
Deceased was ailing with inward complications for the last three years, his condition getting worse and worse until this last Saturday evening he departed this life, at 9:30, at the age of 68 years, three months and 14 days.
He leaves to mourn his departure his widow, Mrs. Sophie Renk; one son, Roy, and one brother, Herman Renk, besides many relatives and friends in this vicinity. His daughter Velma preceded her father in death in February, 1939, at the age of 29 years.
