Eleanora D. Leppert,70, died Thursday, July 2, 1998, in Northgate Care Center after a brief illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, United Methodist Church, Lansing, by the Rev. Tom Mattson. Burial: Mays Prairie Cemetery, rural Lansing. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Martin Funeral Home, Waukon.
Survivors include her husband, Donald; a daughter, Jan Ellis of Postville; and a son, Gary of Kasson, Minn.

Eleanora Dorothy Leppert, 70, of Waukon died Thursday, July 2, 1998 at Northgate Care Center in Waukon.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 4 at United Methodist Church in Lansing with the Rev. Tom Mattson officiating. Burial was in Mays Prairie Cemetery, rural Lansing. Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was born Sept. 22, 1927 in Spring Grove, MN, to George and Frances (Hagen) Toedter. Eleanora attended the rural Clear Creek School and then worked for the Lansing Button Company for several years.

June 9, 1951 Eleanora married Donald Leppert at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They farmed in rural Lansing until moving to Waukon in 1996. For nine years she also worked in the housekeeping/laundry department at Northgate Care Center.

She was a member of United Methodist Church in Lansing where she was active in its Ladies Circle. Eleanora served as Sunday School superintendent for the former Lansing EUB Church. She was also a member of TOPS in Lansing.

Surviving are her husband; a daughter and her husband, Jan and Randy Ellis of Postville; a son and his wife, Gary and Diane Leppert of Kasson, MN; four grandchildren, and a brother-in-law and his wife, Kenneth and Karen Leppert of Lansing.

She was preceded in death by a brother, George Toedter.

Casket bearers were Randy and Jim Toedter, Gilbert Brainard, Kyle and Kraig Leppert and Paul Mauss.

Honorary bearers were Bob Wolf, Bonnie Koloc, Bob and Barb Leppert, Curtis and Betty Gramlich, Glen and Marge Wendel and Delores Walleser.
