Eilene Meyer

A memorial service was held for Eilene Meyer Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home, Postville. Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Eilene Elda Meyer, daughter of Orlando and Elda (Fett) Marting, was born Dec. 7, 1925 at Postville, Iowa. She died Friday, Dec. 23, 1988 at Pittsburg, CA.

She graduated from the Monona High School and attended a business school in Cedar Rapids. On Sept. 27, 1947 she married Dean Meyer at Monona. The couple had 2 children.

They lived in Cedar Rapids until 1959 and then moved near Cleveland, Ohio. In 1960 they moved to Alamo, CA before finally making their home in Antioch, CA in 1980.

She was a member of the Valley Christian Center in Dublin, CA.

She is preceded in death by her husband, who died Oct. 5, 1984, her father, one brother, Wally Marting and one half-brother, Dwayne Marting.

Surviving are one son, Brad Meyer, Mountain View, CA; a daughter, Tracy and her husband, Jerry Gutfeld, Antioch, CA; her mother, Elda Bray, McGregor, IA; a brother, Lanny Marting, Postville; 2 sisters, Shirley Holm, Tustin, CA and Mary Lou Krambeer, Prescott, AZ and her mother-in-law, Ella Meyer, Postville.
