Funeral services for Mrs. Helmuth Meyer of Postville were held Tuesday, May 29, 1990 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. Rev. Julius Peterson officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Bloomfield Cemetery at Castalia.
Florence Mary Caroline Meyer, daughter of Henry F. and Elizabeth (Schroeder) Eggers was born October 6, 1903 at Postville, Iowa. She died Friday, May 25, 1990 in the Good Samaritan Center at Postville.
She was baptized October 9, 1903 and confirmed August 26, 1917 in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Postville. She graduated from the Postville High School and attended Mankato Teachers College in Minnesota.
On October 20, 1925 she was married to Helmuth J. Meyer at Postville, Iowa. They had 3 children. The couple lived in Waukon and Postville where he managed the lumber yard. They moved to Scottsdale, AZ in 1965. Florence returned to Postville in 1980 and became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in 1987.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Helmuth, who died in 1966, and 2 sister, Nora Eggert and Rosena Krambeer.
Surviving are a son, Leo H. Meyer of San Antonio, TX, 2 daughters, Doris of Iowa City, and Mary of Springfield, MO, 7 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville.
Casket bearers were: Ivan Torkelson, Eugene Schutte, Harold Klatt, Lyle Kneeskern, Von Trumblee and Lynwood Dahms.

Postville- Florence M. Meyer, 86, died Friday morning in Good Samaritan Center.
Survivors include a son, Leo of San Antonio; two daughters, Doris Embretson of Iowa City and Mary Thompson of Springfield, MO; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, St. Paul Luutheran Church. Burial: Bloomfield Cemetery, Castalia. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday at Schutte's
