OBITUARY

MRS JOHN NISE

Carolena Anna Maria Krogman,daughter of John and Elizabeth Krogman,deceased was born July 21,1868 in Mecklenburg,Germany.She emigrated to America with her parents,brothers and sisters in November 1881 and settled in Clayton County near Postville,Iowa. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in 1883,which faith she believed in to the time of her death.

She was united in marriage with John Nise June 22,1893 and they settled on a farm in Fayette county near Clermont,where they resided 21 years.They came Howard County in 1914 and have lived in the vicinity of Lime Springs since then.

She passed away at her home east of Lime Springs at one o`clock Friday morning, March 12,1926,at the age of 57 years 7 months and 19 days.She had been in poor health for several years and was a patient sufferer.She was kind,loving and Christian mother.She leaves to mourn her death her husband,John Nise and the following children:Mrs. Walter Hoopman,living near Limes Springs,Carl W., John A.,William E.,Lenora C..,all of whom are at home: one grandson,Herbert Floyd Hoopman,two infant sons having preceded her in death, and the following brothers and sisters: John, living near Castalia,Henry,near Postville, Charlie living at Prairie du Chien,Wis., Minnie living at Fergus Falls,Minn.,Anna at Dubuque, Bertha near Postville. One sister preceded her in death.She leaves a host of nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the Presbyterian Church in Limes Springs.Rev. Dr. Hammond presiding and interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery

A precious one from us has gone

A voice we loved is stilled

A place is vacant in our home,

Which never can be filled
