Allen L. Lawson

Allen L. Lawson, 80, of La Crosse, died on Thursday, June 9, 2005, at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center.

He was born April 16, 1925, in Waukon, Iowa, to Ellwood and Caroline (Livingood) Lawson. Allen served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Betty Levenhagen on Aug. 19, 1944, in Waukon. Together they resided in the Holmen area for 40 years before moving to La Crosse. Allen worked as a machinist at Allis Chalmers in La Crosse for more than 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; three daughters, Susan (Ron) Hauser of Holmen, Kathy (Jerry) Baardseth of Arcadia, Wis., and Julie Lawson of La Crosse; two sons, Allen (Linda) Lawson of Marshfield, Wis., and Jerry (Debra) Lawson of Madison; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Hansmeier of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday, June 14, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home, 907 Sand Lake Road, Onalaska. Burial will be in Pine Cliff Cemetery, Galesville, Wis. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer Association.
