PATRICIA RETHWISCH

Patricia Rethwisch, age 68, of Lansing, Iowa, died Monday, February 2, 2004, at Thornton Manor Nursing Home in Lansing. Funeral services were held Thursday, February 5, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing with Fr. Daniel Knipper officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing was in charge of arrangements.

Pat was born in Madison, Wis., November 30, 1935, to William and Adeline (Hammer) Wagner. She was married to Peter J. Rethwisch June 14, 1952, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing.

For many years Pat was the secretary at Rethwisch Lumber Yard in Lansing. She enjoyed music and played guitar in church and was also a member of the church choir. Pat was a member of the Sweet Adelines. Pat always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren as well as crocheting, knitting, and doing cross-stitch.

She is survived by her husband, Peter J. Rethwisch of Lansing; eight children, Jerry (Mary) Rethwisch of Farmington, Minn., Jim (Mag) Rethwisch of Tampa, Fla., Dave (Ellen) Rethwisch of Iowa City, Iowa, Jay (Lisa) Rethwisch of Lansing, Dan (Ann) Rethwisch of Lakeville, Minn., Judi (Jeff) Darling of Lansing, Pete (Bea) Rethwisch of Marion, Iowa, and Mari (Lynn) Rose of Kasson, Minn.; 29 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Jayne Stahl; a son, Robert Rethwisch; a grandson, Ricky Stahl; and two sisters, Delores Maher and Ardyce Duckwitz.

Honorary casketbearers were Judi Darling, Mari Rose, Leo Garin, Bob Teff, Louie Spinner, Chuck Berns, and Bob Heffern. Casketbearers were Jerry, Jim, Dave, Jay, Dan, and Pete Rethwisch.
