DORIS STRUTZ

Doris Strutz, age 69, of Waukon, Iowa, died Monday, February 2, 2004, at Western Baptist Hospital, Padacuh, after a long illness. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 14, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Waukon with Walter Levering officiating.

Doris "Dodie" was born October 4, 1934, in Carman, Manitoba, Canada, the daughter of Louise Binger and Carl Albert Walter. She received her education in Downey, Calif.

She married Arthur Strutz November 20, 1953, in Downey. Dodie and her husband lived in Waukon for the past 40 years. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses of Waukon. She and Arthur were missionaries in the Western and Midwest states for 40 years. They were also avid antique collectors and flower gardeners.

Surviving are two brothers, Warren Walter and Don Walter, and three sisters, Lea Allee and Viola Calsbeck, all of California, and Myrl Wagner of Golconda, with whom she made her home for the past two years. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews who loved her very much.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 50 years; one sister, Marjorie McCullough; her parents; one niece; and one nephew.
