Judith K. Engrav, 83, of Cheyenne, Wyo., died Sunday, February 8, 2004, at Life Care Center in Cheyenne. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 14 at 1 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Waukon with Rev. Lynn Groe officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.
Judith Katinka Anderson was born January 6, 1921, in rural Waukon, the daughter of Olaf and Hilda (Sorum) Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed at West Paint Creek Synod Church by Rev. J. B. Unseth. Judith attended rural elementary school and Waterville High School.
On August 25, 1938, she married Lawrence Engrav. Judith worked in Sparta, Wis., at the hospital for three years and also at Control Data in Spring Grove, Minn., for five years. She was a member of the West Paint Creek Synod Lutheran Church where she held numerous offices in its ladies circles and organizations and was the church organist for seven years. She also taught Sunday school for several years. After moving to Waukon, she was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a son, Eugene (Faylene) Engrav of Cheyenne; three grandsons, Larry Engrav of Parker, Colo., Mike Engrav of Greely, Colo., and Greg Engrav of Lake Osego, Ore.; one granddaughter, Jilline Johnson of Cheyenne; nine great-grandchildren, Jon, Grant, Collin, Molly, and Abby Engrav, Nichole, Riley, and Wendy McGee and Holly Johnson; and a brother, Melvin (Emma) Anderson of Waukon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence, who died in 1980; a brother, Rudolph Anderson, and a sister, Alma Sorenson.
Casketbearers will be Larry and Michael Engrav, Jilline Johnson, Ordell Sorenson, David Allan Anderson, and Kris Hoins.
