MRS. BLAKE'S FUNERAL WAS HELD YESTERDAY

The funeral of Mrs. John Blake was held Wednesday morning from St. Mary's church, Dorchester, with the Rev. Father Kalb officiating and burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mrs. Blake's grandsons, Richard Mauss, John Mauss, William Byrnes, Gerald Blake, John Duffy and Henry Larson. Present in the sanctuary for the rites were Father Vincent Simon of Hanover, Father Joseph P. O'Donnell of Elmwood Park, Ill and the graveside absolution was given by Father O'Donnell.

Mrs. Blake died Oct. 5 at St. Francis hospital, La Crosse, after a short illness.

She was Mary McKenna, daughter of Patrick and Margaret McKenna, born April 11, 1880 at Dorchester. She was married April l0, 1900 at Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago to John Blake, who survives her. The children are William Blake of Chicago, Mrs Francis (Marie) Duffy of Decorah, Mrs. Joe (Julia) Mauss of Lansing, Mrs. Leo (Helen) White of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Francis (Patricia) Byrnes of Waukon; Mrs. Henry (Gertrude) Larson of Dorchester. Mrs. Don (Betty) Hegeman of Waukon; John Blake of Hanover, Mrs. Connie (Beatrice) Mauss of New Albin, James Blake, deceased; Patrick Blake of Dorchester, and Frances Blake of Chicago. There are 82 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Blake leaves three sisters and a brother; Mrs. Thomas Byrnes, Mrs. Frank Baxter, Mrs. Elizabeth Delaney and Francis Flynn.

The family gathered for dinner at teh church parlors on the day of the funeral.

Among those attending from a distance were William, Gerald, Patrick, John and Michael Blake and Mrs. Fred Ignoffo of Chicago, Patrick Lucey of LaGrange, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Armond Poli of Wilmington, Del; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rude of Marion; Mrs. Ralph Doubek of Marion, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kaulbach of Taos, N.M.; Mrs. Helen White, Joan and Joseph, Cedar Rapids, Jean Hegeman and John Mauss, both of whom are students in Dubuque, and Mrs. Rose Ann Williams of Rochester.
