NORRIS D. "Bud" BURRICHTER

Norris D. "Bud" Burrichter, age 68, of Eitzen, Minn., died Wed., Dec. 3, 2003, at Gundersen-Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, Wis. Funeral services were held Sat., Dec. 6 at the New Albin Community Center with Rev. Paul Burgess officiating. Burial was in the St. Peters Memorial Cemetery, New Albin. Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Bud was born Aug. 17, 1935, in Sandusky, Ohio, to Rev. Emil and Elsie (Dickel) Burrichter. Bud graduated from Newton High School, Newton, Iowa, and attended college in Ames. Through the years, his family relocated due to the pastoral duties of his father. One of these locations was St. Peters United Church of Christ in New Albin. It was there Bud met Mary Lou Middendorf and they were married Nov. 24, 1955.

Bud was employed at Mansfield, Inc., Argus, Inc., and Control Data Corp in Spring Grove, Minn., and Mexico before working at Memorex Corporation in Minneapolis. Bud and Mary Lou then returned to rural New Albin, where they made their home in Winnebago Valley. They eventually moved to Eitzen, Minn., where Bud would live until the time of his death.

While in Eitzen, Bud was involved in the Eitzen Lions Club and served a term as Mayor. For the past 20 years, he owned and operated Burrichter Farm Center, which included Eitzen Ceramics, a business shared with his wife.

Bud enjoyed traveling in their RV and sightseeing with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou; three sons, N. Don (Debra) and their children, Matthew and Brittany, all of New Albin, John E. "Jeb" (Peggy) and their children, Jennifer, Robert, Michael, and Kevin, all of Dorchester, and Toby (Jean) and their children, Kimberlee, Gary, and Kaytie, all of Eitzen; one daughter, Holly (Greg) Dougherty of New Albin; his mother, Elsie of Eitzen; and two sisters, Rev. Lavon (Rev. Bob) Bayler of Elgin, Ill., and Lorene Burrichter of Eitzen.

Bud was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Emil Burrichter, and a grandson, Dustin E. Burrichter.
