Mrs. FREDERICK (Dorothy H. Herrick) KIRCHMEYER

Dorothy "Dofe" H. Kirchmeyer, age 84, of Lansing, Iowa, died of a heart attack Friday morning, Dec. 5, 2003, at Gundersen-Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wis. Funeral services were held Tue., Dec. 9 at the Norway Lutheran Church, rural St. Olaf, Iowa, with Pastor Marshall Hahn officiating. Burial was in the Norway Lutheran Cemetery, St. Olaf. Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing was in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy was born in Fredericksburg, Iowa, Oct.11, 1919, to Harry and Maude (Carney) Herrick. She was married to Frederick Joseph Kirchmeyer Aug. 4, 1940, at Milburn, Ill. He preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 1983.

Dorothy lived in Waukegan, Ill., for many years, retired to Seminole, Fla., and has resided in Lansing since 1993.

She is survived by three children, Bill (Barbara) Kirchmeyer of Lansing, John (Judy) Kirchmeyer of Alliance, Ohio, and Ann (Cal) Langford of Park Ridge, Ill.; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Billie Rugland of Zapata, Texas.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Saradel Champeny.

Casketbearers were Joel, Ben, Al, Bill Jr., and Joe Kirchmeyer and Mike and Ricky Langford.
