FARM ACCIDENT TAKES LIFE OF 7TH GRADER

The M-F-L faculty and students express their deepest sympathy to the family of Gary Bollman whose death brought sadness to us all. Gary, a 7th grader, was born on November 2, 1964 in Allamakee County. He was living with his grandparents on a farm outside of Luana at the time of his death. He was the son of Jim Bollman. On Tuesday, November 7, Gary was killed when the tractor he was driving overturned, pinning him underneath. Gary will be missed deeply by his classmates, friends, and family. Special services were held Friday, November 19 at Schultz's Funeral home in Monona.

Gary Lee Bollman was born November 2, 1964, at the Waukon Veterans Memorial Hospital. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Everett Bollman, Mr. and Mrs. James Bollman, and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Ferguson.

Gary fulfilled his purpose in life when he received Jesus into his heart, and was baptized on Easter Sunday, [illegible area] Gary worked actively for Jesus in the Forest Mills United Methodist Church. Gary was a member of the seventh grade class at M-F-L Community Schools. He actively participated in and enjoyed football, wrestling, trapping, fishing, and hunting. He was also a member of the Monona Ringers Horseshoe Club, in which he held a very good standing.

Gary's gentle smile, quiet actions, and his way of saying much with a few words will be missed by his parents: Mr. & Mrs. James Bollman of Farmersburg; Mr. & Mrs. Gary Ferguson, Monticello; his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Everett Bollman, Mr. & Mrs. Carroll Henkes of McGregor, Arthur Hultgren of McGregor, his brothers and sisters: Scott Bollman, Clark Bollman, Marcia Bacon, Doralee Huinker, Jerry Bollman, Timmy and Tammy Bollman, Tina Bollman, Tracy Bollman, Darrel Ferguson, David Ferguson, Dale Ferguson, plus many nephews and nieces, relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his great-grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Ira Bollman, Mr. & Mrs. Floyd Clark, Mr.& Mrs. Arthur Henkes, Mrs. Arthur Hultgren, and one sister, Sandra Bollman.

Though we miss Gary being a part of us, we rejoice that on Nov. 7, 1978, he went to be with his friend, Jesus, whom he loved. Services were held Fri., Nov. 10, 1978 at 10:30 a.m. for classmates and teachers, at the Schultz Funeral Home, and at 2:00 p.m. at the Forest Mills United Methodist Church with the Rev. Curtis Webster officiating at both services. Organist was Mrs. Kenneth Ewing; Soloist, Pat Dinsdale. Songs were "In The Garden" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus." The solo "Jesus", sung by Karen Roffman, with Hope Swenson on guitar, was sung at the Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Todd Henkes, Danny Pape, Kirk Dinsdale, Randy Henkes, Kevin Dinsdale, and Kendall Dinsdale.

Burial was in the Smithfield Cemetery.
