ANDREW A. KOONTZ 1874-1948

The death of Andrew A. Koontz, 73 , occurred New Year's day at Postville, following an illness of three years' duration.

He was born to Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Koontz March 25, 1874, on a farm in Paint Creek township, where he grew to manhood. His marriage to Rosena Larson took place in 1908 in Waukon, the late Rev. R. L. Van Nice officiating.

Later Rossville became the family home where Mr. Koontz conducted a general store for many years. A son and two daughters were born to this union who survive. They are Andrew of Waukon; Mrs. Herbert Becker, Caledonia, and Lucille Koontz, Albert Lea, Minn. There are four grandchildren. Deceased was the surviving member of his family.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Martin's funeral home, conducted by Rev. A. H. Grosshelm. Burial followed in the I. O. O. F. cemetery in Rossville.

The pall bearers were Creston and Clinton Kelly, John Rumph, Dare Walters, Joseph Cowell and Edgar Deal.

Henry Klees, Emory Walters and Ed. Ewing were honorary pall bearers.
