Mrs. ANDREW (Katherine Kuhne) KOONTZ 1851-1908

Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine Koontz of Rossville, who died Saturday September 12th, were held Sunday, Rev. Van Nice of this city, conducting them. Mrs. Koontz had been a long time sufferer and death came as a sweet release to her though it filled the hearts of her family and friends with great grief for her life had been such as to endear herself to all with whom she came in contact.

Mrs. Koontz's maiden name was Kathrine Kuhne and she was born October 22, 1851 in Wittenberg, Germany, coming to this country with her father in early girlhood and settling in Rossville which place has been her home ever since. December 20, 1872, she was married to Andrew Koontz and bore him three sons, Ed, Gus and Fred, who with a stepson and daughter remain to mourn her death, a large circle of friends joining them in a grief which time alone can soften.
