August Heinrich Dietrich REINHART was born in Schessinghansen, Germany, March 31, 1844, and died at his home in Winneshiek Co., Iowa, northwest of Postville, at seven o'clock on Thursday morning, March 16, 1909, aged 64 years, 11 months and 16 days. In 1873 he came to America, settling first in Clayton county and later to Winneshiek county. He was first married to Caroline SCHLUETER; to this union were born two sons and four daughters; the wife and one daughter having died. In 1891 he was married a second time, to Mrs. Alwine HELMKE; to this union were born two sons and a daughter. About eleven days ago he was attacked with pneumonia which resulted fatally. He is survived by his wife, his father, four sons, two stepsons, five daughters, three brothers and five sisters. The funeral was held from the Lutheran church at one o'clock Thursday afternoon, March 18, 1909, Rev. R. KUEHNE officiating. Interment in the Postville cemetery.
