O. C. Rekow Dies at M. C.

Funeral services for Otto C. Rekow, 84, were held Saturday, March 14, 1963 at 2 p.m. at the Patterson-James chapel in Mason City with Rev. C. A. Hinz, pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran church, officiating.

Mr. Rekow died Thursday, March 12, 1963, at a Mason City hospital. Burial was at Kensett.

He was born Sept. 21, 1879, in Germany, a son of Herman and Bertha, nee Fischer, Rekow. He had farmed throughout his life in Worth county and had lived in Mason City for about the last seven years.

He was married to Rose Amundson, who preceded him in death in 1931. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Elfrieda Jordan, who died in 1958; two sisters, Mrs. Len (Anna) Dresser and Mrs. Herb (Helen) Parker; and a brother, Karl.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Keith (Bertha) Lancial of Council Bluffs and Ruth Rekow of Mason City; three sons, Eldo and Raymond of Mason City and Herman of Osage; three sisters, Mrs. Ben (Louise) Meyer of Monona, Mrs. Minnie Cummings of Emmett, Idaho, and Mrs. DeEtta Landt of Des Moines; four brothers, Fred of Ellendale, N. D., William of Emmett, Idaho, Emil of Garner, and Henry of Postville; 14 grandchildren, and one great-grandson.

Music at the services was provided by Gordon Schoper, soloist, Mrs. C. A. Hinz was the organist.

Pallbearers were: Arthur Nelson, Carl Mammen, Arley Thompson, and Fritz Schulte.
