Earl Ruckdaschel Rites Saturday

Funeral services were held for Earl J. Ruckdaschel on Saturday morning, Feb. 19, 1977 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery. Rev. Norris C. Swenson conducted the services.

Earl Joseph Ruckdaschel was born in rural Postville, Clayton county, Iowa January 10, 1927, the son of Victor and Welma (Ihde) Ruckdaschel, and died Feb. 16, 1977 at LaCrosse, Wis., at the age of 50 years.

He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Postville, baptized by Pastor Finck May 6, 1927 and confirmed by Pastor Ludwig March 17, 1940.

He was united in marriage to Betty Mae Schutte September 15, 1949.

He operated the Ruckdaschel Trucking Service for 30 years, and was a member of the Postville Volunteer Fire Department for 17 years. He also served the Police Force for several years.

He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother who died in infancy.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; his mother, Welma Ruckdaschel; two brothers, Merrill of Waukon, and Orville, Mesa, Ariz., four sisters, Ileta (Mrs. Leonard Christofferson) of Monona, Eunice, (Mrs. Louis Halverson) of Monona, Betty (Mrs. Donald Knuth) of Humboldt and Rose Marie (Mrs. Oliver Doerring) of Luana and 18 nieces and nephews.

Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
