Charldine Jones

Funeral services for Charldine Jones, 57, were held Monday, Nov. 5, 1984 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. The Reverend David Palm officiated. Schutte Funeral Service was in charge. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Charldine Marcella, daughter of Walter Wellman and Clara Viola (Nelson) Martie, was born July 5, 1927 in Clayton County near Elgin. She died Nov. 2, at Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse.

She was baptized Oct. 19, 1927 at the East Clermont Lutheran Church by the Reverend Dugsted. Dec. 19, 1943 she was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. Charldine attended the rural schools in the Clermont, Luana, and Postville areas.

July 28, 1946 she was married to Leslie Jones in Minnesota, and they are the parents of a daughter. She had been employed by the Groth Turkey Plant, Hanson and Mattson, Postville Egg Company, the Phillips "66" Cafe and as a bookkeeper for Chuck Hoth. For the past several years she was the dispatcher and bookkeeper for C & L Trucking, Postville.

She is preceded in death by her father.

Surviving are a daughter, Shelva (Mrs. Dennis Kohrs) two grandsons, Kevin and Shane, her mother, Clara, and a brother, Wayne Martie, all of Postville.
