Emmett Earl Palmer was born on 18 Aug 1907 in Jefferson Twp, Allamakee Co., IA. He was buried in Feb 1998 in IOOF Cemetery, Rossville, Allamakee Co., IA. He died on 7 Feb 1998 in Northgate Care Center Waukon, Allamakee Co., IA. He was also known as "Scoop" Palmer. Called "Uncle Scoop" by nieces and nephews. Emmett Earl Palmer

Emmett E. Palmer, 90, of rural Monana, died Saturday, February 7th at Northgate Care Center in Waukon following a brief illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 11 at 10:30am at Rossville Presbyterian Church in Rossville, IA, with Rev. Linda Baldwin officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery, rural Rossville.
Emmett Earl Palmer was born on August 18, 1907 on the Jefferson Township, rural Waukon farm of his parents, Emmett LeRoy and Ethel (Stafford) Palmer. He was baptized at the Volney Methodist Church and attended the rural "Beman School". On January 9, 1929 he married Florence Evelyn Klees in a ceremony performed by Rev. Van Nice in Waukon. Emmett and Evelyn farmed in Jefferson and Linton Townships until moving to their farm in Paint Creek Township. Emmett was a member of the Rossville Presbyterian Church, Farm Bureau and the IOOF Lodge. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially coon hunting with his hounds.
Emmett is proceeded in death by his parents, his brothers Everett and Creighton, and his sisters Gretta Thias, Dorothy Leet, and Thelma Stenseth.

Survivors include his wife Evelyn, 2 sons, Norbert and wife Nola of Waukon IA, Robert and wife Pat of Berrien Springs, MI, 5 grandchildren, Paul Palmer and wife Chris, sons Jacob and Justin, Ron Palmer, David Palmer and wife Sharon , Jane and husband Dale Rausch, sons Ben and Michael, and Bob Palmer.
Pallbearers were: Dan Bickham, Gene Thias, Rich Leiran, Stan Palmer, Neal Palmer and Curt Palmer.
