Wyatt R. Yearous, 54, of Waukon, Iowa, died Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 19th at 11:00 AM at Faith Evangelical Free Church in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin with Pastor Mike Jacobson officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Waukon, Iowa. Friends may call from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.

Wyatt Randy Yearous was born on October 17, 1957 in Waukon, Iowa, the son of Clifton Alfred and Arlene Henrietta (Timmerman) Yearous. He grew up in the rural Churchtown area on his parent's farm. He attended rural elementary school and Waukon Schools. While going to school, Wyatt worked on the farm, helped at home, and drove school bus. After his schooling years, he began driving a milk truck and moved to Fredericksburg, Iowa where he worked for Tri-State Breeders. There he met Deb Brown and the two were married on September 15, 1979 at Peace United Church of Christ in Fredericksburg. Wyatt started hauling livestock in 1979 and in 1981 he and Deb moved to far northeast Iowa where they have lived ever since. During his driving career there were several times when he worked various other jobs to allow him to be closer to his family. In 1998 he bought a semi and began his own business, White Rose Trans Stock, and hauled livestock all across North America.

Wyatt was a member of First Baptist Church in Waukon and an Awana leader for many years. Recently he has attended Faith Evangelical Free Church in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. He also served a term on the board of directors of the Allamakee Community School District.

An outdoorsman all of his life, Wyatt loved hunting coon and deer as well as ginseng and mushrooms. He also enjoyed gardening and fishing. He relished the role of hobby farmer and raised a variety of animals on his acreage. In more recent years, his grandchildren had become the center of his world.

Survivors include his wife Deb of Waukon; three daughters, Danielle (Larry) Kruse of Waukon, Lacey (Tom "Toad") Hollenbeck of Castalia, Iowa, and Brittany Yearous of Plymouth, Minnesota; five grandchildren, Emma, Sophie, and Ainsley Hollenbeck, and Cole and Devynne Kruse; his mother Arlene Yearous of Waukon; and three siblings, Clay (Wendy Gress) Yearous of Monona, Iowa, Wade (Marcia) Yearous of Hillsboro, Wisconsin,and Sarah Yearous of Plymouth, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his father Clifton as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents.
